A development sector institution engaged in poverty reduction across the country is seeking applications for a position of;

Head of Department

This is a senior level position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and will be responsible for the following;


•    Drive the strategic thinking and direction for effective socio-economic development at a national level through financial and technical support

•    Align program design to correspond to national and international priorities, best practices, and organizational values

•    Set and enforcing standards to enhance quality and impact of all programs

•    Review and continuously improve operational policies and procedures to enhance its relevance and efficacy

•    Strengthen the data collection, documentation, communication and reporting of results

•    Crowd in relevant stakeholders and leverage external financial and non-financial resources to build greater synergies and collaborations

•    Design and manage an overall impact assessment framework for the Department, and build a motivated, dynamic team capable of designing, delivering, monitoring and documenting an innovative, effective program

•    Develop and maintain effective relationships with government, civil society organizations, funding agencies and the private sector

Incumbent’s Profile

•    A master’s degree or equivalent qualification in social sciences or other relevant degree from top ranking HEC recognized national or international university

•    A minimum of 15 years’ relevant work experience at the national/international level in the development sector, out of which 10 years in a senior management position

•    A track record of managing portfolios or institutions where similar work was designed, strategic frameworks created, and project cycle management undertaken

•    A high level of personal skills to deal effectively with the stakeholders

•    A system’s thinker, goal driven, innovative and action oriented individual

•    Strong analytical, leadership, interpersonal and communications skills
