Wafaqul Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan warns MQM against ‘crossing limits’

MULTAN: Wafaqul Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan has taken exception to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers coming to some madrassas in Karachi to collect data about the students.
According to a press release, the organisation has warned MQM chief Altaf Hussain against crossing the limits, which could cause new conflicts in the country. Wafaqul Madaris leaders including Maulana Saleemullah Khan, Maulana Dr Abdul Razzaq Sikandar, Maulana Muhammad Hanif Jalandhary, and Maulana Anwarul Haq said in a joint statement that the country could not afford any new controversies. They demanded the government take notice of the situation.
The religious leaders said no political or non-political party or any person has any right to gather data about the students studying in madrassas. They said no state within state would be tolerated at all. They said it is a responsibility of the government to oversee affairs of madrassas and not any party or any individual. They asked the authorities of madrassas not to provide any information individual or any political party, and if they face any difficulty in this regard, they should immediately inform the Wafaqul Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan. They said the independence of the madrassas would be protected at all costs.
