An international non-governmental organization (INGO) is seeking to acquire Short Term Technical Assistance for Generating Private Sector support for schools’ targeted under a basic education program funded by an international donor agency in Sindh. This position will be based in Karachi, Sindh. Under the program, state-of-art schools are being constructed in seven districts of northern Sindh and f ive selected towns of Karachi.
The purpose of this consultancy is to tap and generate resources from national / international private sectorentit ies, philanthropists, diaspora, overseas Pakistanis and to attract serious prospects to partner with Government for furniture, solar panels and other needs of first 33 of the construction schools and 30 of the neighboring (non-construction) schools. This short term consultancy may last for 6 months starting from December 2015.
The STTA consultant is required to:
• Be responsible for developing marketing / public relations concept notes, fund raising strategies, sustainable and material linkages with the program, and private sector entities and follow-up and management of public-private partnerships;
• Be responsible for identification of major local, multinational, and global corporations, foundations, clubs, philanthropists1 networks, diaspora groups, social entrepreneurs, overseas Pakistanis and other private sector entities to support targeted schools in Sindh province;
• Be responsible for developing and implementing plans to raise funds for items needed for the targeted schools as per individual needs’ assessments and requirements which include, but are not limited to, furniture, solar powered backup system, etc.;
• Maintain a database of public-private partnership activities, and develop periodic reports;
