Mercy Corps is a Non-Governmental & Non-Profit Organization that exists to Alleviate Suffering, Poverty and Oppression by Helping People Build Secure, Productive and Just Communities. Mercy Corps is seeking applications from potential candidates for the following position:

“Senior Program 0fficer” 01 Position (Islamabad Based):

Qualifications & Experience:
MBBS (preferred) with a masters degree in public health (required). At least five years of experience in both technical and program management roles required, with experience working with an INGO strongly preferred. Previous experience in maternal, neonatal and child health programs as well as working with multiple donors including the Global Fund, USAID, DFID will be a plus. Experience supervising multiple health projects is preferable. The applicant must possess excellent communication and presentation skills. Excellent writing skills with proficiency in written and spoken English and Urdu (spoken only) are required. Proficiency in the use of computer especially MS Office is a must.

Responsibilities / Duties:
The person will liaise closely with the Health project teams, Deputy Director of Health Programs, and Director of Health Programs in ensuring that the key tasks are completed in a timely manner and with high quality. S/he will maintain working relationship with key external project stakeholders at Islamabad level. S/he will be responsible for maintaining minutes of the meetings (external and internal) and will work with the relevant project managers to ensure timely reporting. S/he will travel to field sites including Quetta, Lahore, Karachi and project districts on a regular basis. S/he will work closely with the project managers and their teams in identifying areas for technical support and responding to the technical needs of the projects. The person will work to improve the quality of the project deliverables and participate in the project review meetings. S/he will also be required to contribute to new program development.
