U.S. Consulate General Job Karachi, Motor Pool Supervisor
The U.S. Consulate General in Karachi is seeking an individual for the position of Motor Pool Supervisor in the General Services Office / Motor Pool.
Position: Motor Pool Supervisor, FSN-8, FP-6.
Basic Function of Position: The incumbent of this position supervises a work force of 34 people assigned to the Motor Pool, Gas Station, and Auto shop. Additionally manages a fleet of 71 vehicles, 3 forklifts and 8 mules (utility vehicles). Plans, directs, and coordinates the use and maintenance of motor vehicles and the use of motor pool personnel to provide efficient transportation services. Coordinates all Consulate transportation within the district.

1. Education: Completion of Secondary School (10 years of education) is required.
2. Experience: Three years of experience is required in Motor Pool operations either as fleet manager, dispatcher, or vehicle maintenance.
3. Language: Level III (good working knowledge) Speak/Read/Write in English and Level IV (Fluent) Speak/Read/Write in Urdu are required. Language skills will be tested.
4. Knowledge: Must have a thorough working knowledge of Motor Pool operations, automotive maintenance, and safety practices. Must have good knowledge of local traffic laws and patterns. Must be familiar with typical business applications for computers, such as the Microsoft Office suite and email programs.
5. Abilities & Skills: Must have a valid HTV driver’s license. Must have good organizational skills, good oral and written communication skills, and good computer skills. Driving and computer skills may be tested.

1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
3. Current employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
4. Currently employed U.S. Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
5. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
6. Current employees who have voluntarily been reassigned/promoted from one position to another are not eligible to apply for six months from the effective date of the reassignment/promotion.
7. Current employees who have received any job-related training are not eligible to apply in another section/agency for six months from the effective date of the training.
8. U.S. Mission Pakistan will not bear any travel expenses for testing, interviews, pre-employment clearances (if selected) or relocation for joining.
