Indigenous Scholarship for MPhil/MS leading to PhD or PhD

Applications are invited from outstanding Pakistani/AJK nationals for the award of scholarship for MPhil/MS leading to PhD or PhD in Pakistani HEC recognized Universities/Degree Awarding Institutes. The scholarship will be awarded for the academic year 2012-13 in all areas of Studies/Discipline under the project title "Indigenous PhD fellowship for 5000 scholars-Phase-H".

a) Pakistani/AJK National

b) Candidate must have minimum 16 years of education with no 3rd division or grade D throughout the academic career,

c) Maximum age at the closing date of application i.e. Monday, July 30th 2012

a. 40 years for full time regular faculty members of public sector university/DAIs and employees of the public sector/R&D organizations.

b. 35 years for all others.

d) The candidates who are already availing any other scholarship are NOT eligible to apply.

Scholarships are available in following Categories:
Category-A: • Already Enrolled in PhD Program Category-B: • Fresh/ Enrolled in MS/MPhil • MPhil completed but not enrolled in PhD till closing date of advertisement.
Applicants must have completed MS/MPhil degree and converted/enrolled into PhD program before the closing date of application i.e. July SO1" 2012 Candidates must have valid GAT (General) test conducted by NTS with at-least 50 or above marks to apply for scholarship program.

Application Procedure:

Candidates should fill ONLINE APPLICATION form available at HEC website (www.scholarships.hec.gov.pk) and

POST the printed form of application at the address given below along with attested photocopies of all educational

testimonials, CNIC and Domicile by a gazetted Government Officer with Online bank Deposit Slip of Rs. 300/- (nonrefundable) in favor of Director General Finance, Higher Education Commission, H-9, Islamabad in A/C No.

01120050011901, HBL Aabpara Branch Islamabad as a processing fee.

Important Note:

• NTS is conducting GAT General Test on August 05'", 2012 to facilitate those applicants who do not have GAT General or want to improve marks. The last date to apply for the said test is 20" July, 2012. For test details and information visit NTS website NTS Home

• GAT General Test is not required from applicants of category"A"

• Scholarships will be awarded as per Federal Government Quota policy approved by Government of Pakistan and discipline wise.

• The selected candidates should be full-time student to avail the scholarship. Those who are employed have to arrange study leave for the full duration of their study program.

• In-service candidates should apply through proper channel however advance copy may be submitted before dead line if required.

• Incompleteorapplicationsreceivedafterduedatewillno tbeentertained.

• Students will be eligible for HEC scholarship for study in those departments of Universities/Degree Awarding Institutes who have adopted HEC "Quality Assurance Criteria to run MS/MPhil/PhD program".
