The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Pakistan is looking for suitable candidates to fill the following vacancies as consultant:

Training Manager (Duration: November 2015-July 2016, potentially extendable)

REQUIREMENTS

Substantial experience in conducting and developing trainings

Excellent writing and editing skills in both Urdu and English

Excellent public speaker and presenter

Experience in project management and institutional policy

Good knowledge of public health issues in Pakistan and the health sector in Karachi

Good computer skills

Analytical and reporting skills

Proactive, motivated, sense of responsibility, organizational skills, ability to take initiative and to work independently according to objective rather than job description Team spirit, openness and willingness to adhere to humanitarian principles Prior experience of work at an international or non-governmental organization desirable Resistant to stressful situations, patience, perseverance, adaptability, self-confidence Ability to exercise discretion and respect confidentiality

Purpose of the post: To serve as the focal point for the design and roll out of training for health care staff in order to allow them to better protect themselves from violence within the framework of the international Health Care in Danger project. Training are a core component of the project’s interventions and the Training Manager will be coordinating extensively with various individuals and institutions cooperating on the project. The position will be based at the project office at APPNA Institute of Public Health, Jinnah Sindh Medical University. Main Tasks:

■    In close cooperation with the project team develop curricula for dealing with and preventing violence at healthcare institutions

■    Oversee the trainings calendar and assure coordination with other components of the project

■    Act as the Master trainer for all the workshops arranged for all cadres of health staff

■    Prepare workshop materials and contribute to developing visuals

. Conducting Consu|tant psychologist

(Duration: November 2015 – January 2016, consultancy basis)

REQUIREMENTS

in psychology

Experience of counselling work, especially with victims of violence Experience in conducting and developing trainings Excellent writing and editing skills in both Urdu and English Excellent public speaker and presenter

Prior experience of work at an international or non-governmental organization desirable Good knowledge of public health issues in Pakistan and the health sector in Karachi an asset

Purpose of the post: To provide technical input into the design of training materials for health care providers in order to allow them to protect themselves better from violence they encounter while working in Karachi within the framework of the international project Health Care in Danger

Trainings are a core component of the project’s interventions and the consultant psychologist will be coordinating extensively with various individuals and institutions cooperating on the project. The position will be based at the project office at APPNA Institute of Public Health. Jinnah Sindh Medical University. Since there is a scarcity of resources on this issue in Pakistan, this will be an exciting post for an experienced and creative individual allowing them to make a difference and contribute to the production of a new set of tools. Main Tasks:

■    Develop concepts for training in line with the recommendations of the research project and in consultation with the curriculum consultant dealing with and prevention of violence at healthcare institutions

■    To be the lead on developing a support group for victims – health care providers who have suffered violence at work place

■    Work with the Training Manager and other team members for developing and operationalizing the curriculum for all cadres of health staff

■    To support the Training Manager in the training of trainers
